Fundraising & How To Help

There are many different ways that you can help the Centre and this page should give you a few ideas. If you have any other ideas then let us know! Of course, financial contributions are very important to the Centre which is a non-profit making charity. The cost of running Arthurshiel continues to rise and simply to cover the essentials such as feed and veterinary care for a dog can amount to £350. This has to be raised without any grants or local government support. In other words we have to do it ourselves and any contribution, small or large, makes a difference.

Donations by cheque should be made payable to Arthurshiel Rescue Centre and forwarded to :-Arthurshiel Rescue Centre, Arthurshiel,St Boswells.TD6 0DL

Help At The Centre
Willing volunteers are a huge asset to the Sanctuary and the running of Arthurshiel would be impossible without them. This can cover walking our dogs or any other everyday task. Get in touch with us to make arrangements.- Gifts to charities in a Will are tax free and so not only can you help Arthurshiel, there can also be a benefit to your estate. Details you would require are Arthurshiel Rescue Centre, Registered Charity No SC029296. A solicitor can advise you fully. - As we have said some of our horses and sheep stay at the Centre and are not for re-homing. However that does not mean you cannot help them and support them. Arthurshiel runs a Sponsorship scheme which covers these animals as well as a number of our dogs, cats and rabbits which for different reasons cannot be re-homed. Sponsors receive a pack containing a photograph of your chosen animal and a certificate to keep. A sponsorship makes an ideal gift for those that are unable to have an animal at home or live too far away from us. Visit our Sponsorship Gallery to see some of the animals we have available for you to sponsor and remember we have many more at the Centre. If you would like to sponsor your favourite then please complete and return to us a sponsorship form. If you have any questions regarding sponsorship, please contact Shona on 07581-878393.

The Centre provides a home for many animals and whilst some of our equines and other farm animals will spend the rest of their lives here at Arthurshiel, we always have dogs, cats and rabbits that would love a new caring home. We frequently have puppies and kittens available for homing, but our older residents would also like to have the chance to pack their suitcase! They can often be less troublesome than a younger animal that is still exploring the world. Please consider them as well. If you have any particular requirements, have a word with us. We can probably help. You might need a dog that is happy with less than average exercise or a cat that just wants to sit on your knee. Give us a call. Take a look at our homes needed for a selection of the type of animals we have presently looking for that special home.

The continued existence of Arthurshiel relies totally on the money raised from our Fun Raising events. Volunteers are always needed for street collection days and at the events we hold during the year. See our Latest News and Events for details.
