Monty

I thought you'd like to hear how Monty is getting on. He has been with us for over a year now (since December 05) and is a wonderful, happy dog, and we adore him. Monty had a bit of a trauma last November when he ran into a snare, but he wasn't far away from me and sensibly made a lot of noise about it so I found him quickly, and he soon made a full recovery. I gave our details to animal welfare organisations campaigning against snaring, and so he was used as a case study while the Executive consultation on whether to ban snaring was ongoing, and he had his story told on Sky News and in the Sunday Mail. I think he rather enjoyed the attention.

He settled in very nicely and put on weight to become a big strong, handsome boy. He learned recall very well, and so gets lots of long runs off lead, including days out on the hills with my son and I, as we are keen hill walkers. He gets on great with my son Sam, and was very fond of our terrier, Pippin. Sadly, Pippin died of cancer last summer. She went very quickly and we all missed her terribly, including Monty.

He started to go downhill, and was losing weight again, so we found a new friend for him - a little working type Springer pup called Meg. Monty and Meg absolutely adore each other and are great together, (except I have to keep on top of the training, otherwise they start to get naughty and run off together!). Other than that he has stayed healthy and well, and is just a great family dog. We feel like he has always been with us, and are so very glad that we found him, and that you let us re home him. I reckon he is very glad too.
